Portable High Chair Reviews

Before you rush out to buy a portable baby high chair, let’s see what other parents have to say…

A look at some of the best selling Portable Baby High Chair Models and some of the customer feedback:

Fisher Price Space-Saver.

Fisher Price Space Saver Portable High ChairPros: “I loved the fact that this high chair converted to a booster and lasted from 4 months right through to 3 – 4 years. I also loved the space saving aspect. I had a bigger highchair and when I moved house it didnt fit into the kitchen”
Cons: “This chair can be difficult to clean and has to be taken apart to get into the corners”
Overall: “I love the fact I can use this as a highchair or remove the tray and use it as a booster at the table so baby can be a part of the family at meal times. I have used this for two of my three children and I am amazed that the white plastic tray never seems to stains”

Bumbo Baby Seat

blue bumbo baby seat portable high chairPros: “I love the soft texture of the bumbo and the fact it is so easy to clean. It is light weight so its not hard to take with you on an outing and saves your pram from getting grotty at meal times”
Cons: “I brougth the optional table and thiat is very tricky to get on and off. I have one baby who was just too wriggly for it though – she could get out of it at 9 months”
Overall: “I love the bumbo – it is practical and easy to use. I would take it with me all the time and can be easily cleaned. I liked the fact it helped bubs sit up and be a part of the family ‘safely’ from around 3 months of age”

Baboz Portable Baby Chair Harness

baboz portable baby high chair harnessPros: small, handy, you know its clean as you have washed it yourself, baby doesn’t move, due to shoulder and waist ties.
Cons: couple of chairs with open backs it wouldn’t fit.
Overall: bought this in 2005, need a new one 3 children and 4 years of everyday use as worn mine out, can’t find them anymore in the uk, would recommend to everyone, i will be lost without it, its a great item.

Childcare Primo Hook On

Childcare Brand Primo Hook on Portable high chairPros: Great price and value. Not only is it better then the other seats but it is also the cheapest. Easy to fit to Kitchen bench. I had a problem with other brands that I tried to fit to my kitchen bench in that the arms underneath to keep it stable is too long. Placed my baby in it from the age of 5 months. It has a nice high back for support when she gets older. Fabric is so easy to wipe down after she finishes eating
Cons: Nothing.
Overall: I wanted a comfortable compact seat for my baby that did not take up room in the house. Its compact to fold up and easy to store if you don’t want to keep it attached to your table/bench. I am going to buy another one to keep in the car for when we visit family and friends. It fitted perfectly on parents table. It is so easy to wipe down after each use. Don;t understand other brands using fabric that cannot be wiped down easy and needs to either be hosed off or put in the washing machine.”

Phil & Teds ME Too

Phil & Teds ME Too Portable High ChairPros: lightweight, looks neat and tidy, dont have to remove a tray and clean it up which is a time saver, my daughter loves it and since we got it she hasn’t looked twice at her highchair sitting in the corner. easy to clean
Cons: as previous reviewers have said- the straps are too simple and could do with some more thought. and they look like they come off a cheap stroller.
Overall: great buy. very happy to have one to make my life easier at meal times. we liked the idea of these high chairs that can attach to your table but all the other types of designs for this product weren’t compatible with our table as it only has a small lip to attach to- thank god for the metoo! as it fits perfectly. will be getting another one when my youngest can sit up properly for feeds.

Danish by Design – HandySitt

Handysitt portable high chair - danish designPros: this seat is elegantly made and a wonderful design. easy to clean. allows baby to sit at the table
Cons: just did not fit our chairs so we had to sell it.
Overall: i love the concept of this seat. danish design is always so well made. the seat is small enough to take out with you and allows baby to sit at the table. baby really needs to be pretty sturdy sitting up to use this chair – it doesn’t give a lot of support. very minamilist so very easy to clean. the only problem with this seat is it didn’t fit our furniture so i ended up selling it.

TotSeat Portable High Chair

totseat portable high chairPros: Fits in handbag, easy to wash, nice and brightly coloured. Has fit on every chair I have tried so far (and there have been many different types!).
Cons: I don’t have anything bad to say about the totseat!
Overall: This is a must for every mother of a baby/toddler! I have found it so simple to use and it has been used on many occasions for my daughter when we are travelling/ out and about. Also great to have on hand when we have visitors and need a second high chair. I never leave the house without it!
